For nearly two decades Jane Summers-Eve has been a costumier and designer based in Melbourne. She has worked on many stage and screen productions she also has expertise in latex construction and corsetry. As well as being engaged by a select range of private clientele she has also worked for numerous major arts companies. These include Opera Queensland, Opera Australia, The Australian Ballet, Circus Oz, Chunky Move and the Victorian State Schools Spectacular.
Her costumes have also featured in Showtime’s Satisfaction, Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned, Channel 7's Winners & Losers, the 2002 film version of Ned Kelly and Dancing with the Stars. Most recently she has worked on costumes for the 2015 stage production of Georgy Girl, the recent TV mini-series of Gallipoli and the stage production of Nice Work If You Can Get It.
Jane enjoys creating classic feminine looks in unconventional fabrics and enjoys the unique challenges presented in each production. Her meticulous finishes are particularly appreciated by her clients. With unparalleled experience in latex pattern making and construction, Jane offers a unique service. Having previously worked in the fashion industry, designing both couture and prêt-a-porter ranges she fell in love with the magic of stagecraft and moved into costume design and manufacture. She enjoys the opportunity this gives her to develop a client’s vision into a finished creation. Jane is held in high regard by many of Australia's leading costume designers:-
